The garden in this Croydon property is an an oasis of greenness. We designed this garden ourselves, and wanted to give it a sense of lushness to remind us of our 7 years in the Far East.
The plants are mostly evergreen, so the garden maintains a leafy appearance throughout the winter (except when it snows!). Due to the dense shrubbery, there isn't much weeding either.
We have tried hard to avoid harmful pesticides etc. And this has resulted in a fairly natural garden, much loved by birds. We have had robins, blackbirds and blue tits nesting in our garden.
As the garden is south east facing, the patio area is ideal for sun loungers in the summer, while the bench in the arbour under the pear tree provides a relaxing 'hideaway'.
This is a garden to entertain in, and we have many alfresco meals out here in the summer months.
